Almost At Home Program

Sisters Helping The Homeless Feel “Almost Home…”
The “Almost Home…” program has been in place for the past five years in the Town of Islip and has collaborated with several local churches, community organizations and individuals. Every week during the winter months “Almost Home…” volunteers provide safe transportation, hot meals, a warm place to spend the night, and referrals to resources for further follow-up. The Sisters partner with “Almost Home…” to address the needs for shelter of the homeless population in our neighborhood.
During this winter season, the “Almost Home…” program seeks donations, like the Sisters’ recent donation of bed linens, so that more individuals living on the streets won’t have to struggle without a warm place to spend the nights. Sister Jane Reilly, CSJ is pictured here with Pastor Roscoe Clairborne receiving our donations for the shelter that is located in his         church,Little Church of God in Christ, Central Islip.
