2025 Spring Liturgy & Luncheon a Success
Apr 1, 2025

By Sam Miller
The Sisters of St. Joseph welcomed more than 200 Agrégées, Associates, Partners in Mission, alumnae, friends, family, and local supporters to the Brentwood Campus on Sunday, March 30, for their annual Spring Liturgy & Luncheon.
The afternoon started with a beautiful liturgy in the Sacred Heart Chapel and ended with guests enjoying a delightful lunch, conversation with old and new friends, and a chance at winning raffle prizes. The wondrous spirit of Spring was definitely felt.
This year’s event recognized the contributions of an extraordinary group of visionaries, the Sisters of St. Joseph Guild. Sixty-eight years ago, in 1957, family members and friends of the Sisters of St. Joseph came together to form the Guild.
“All good things in life start with someone’s ideas and dreams,” S. Tesa Fitzgerald, president of the Sisters of St. Joseph, said at the Spring Liturgy & Luncheon. “Creative ways to bring people together in community to celebrate a common cause — or to raise funds for that noble cause. And the Sisters of St. Joseph are certainly a noble cause. And in essence, that’s the origin of the Guild that we remember and celebrate today.”
Recognizing the Sisters of St. Joseph Guild
Inspired by the Congregation’s mission and eager to support its many ministries, members of the Guild in the 1950s and 1960s tirelessly raised funds for building projects on the Brentwood Campus. Brentwood College, Our Lady of Grace Juniorate, and Maria Regina were all financed in part by the efforts of Guild members. In later years, as the needs of the Congregation changed, their efforts were dedicated to the care of our retired Sisters.
The visionaries who created the Sisters of St. Joseph Guild understood the work of fundraising. They built lasting relationships with donors and invited their engagement in the dynamic CSJ mission. Predecessors of today’s Office of Mission Advancement, their excellence, creativity, and commitment to the congregation continue to inspire.
“For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of following in the footsteps of the Guild,” shared Jorge DeJesus, director of the Mission Advancement Office. “Alongside a dedicated, talented, and hardworking team in the Mission Advancement Office, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Sisters and all of you for entrusting us with this important work of building meaningful relationships.
“We are guided by the mission of unifying all people with God, one another, and all of creation,” he added.
Congratulations to the Spring Liturgy & Luncheon Raffle Winners
The Mission Advancement Team thanked the many supporter and donors who made the event — and its raffles — possible.
“We want to thank you for supporting the Spring Liturgy and Luncheon,” DeJesus said. “Your generosity helped make this special event memorable and we want to be sure you know how important your commitment is to the overall success of this event. Please know that every dollar raised will be utilized to provide support for our Sisters, and our many ministries.”
