58th Annual Puerto Rican Hispanic Day Parade Honors the LIIC

The Long Island Immigration Clinic was one of the honorees of this year’s 58th Annual Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade held on Sunday, June 2nd in Brentwood.   LIIC was presented with the Nilda Alvarez Social Justice Award, given to those organizations that have shown exemplary service and support to community members in need, most especially those in need of immigration services.  

Sister Jane Reilly, CSJ, a volunteer at LIIC since its inception, accepted the award on LIIC’s behalf.

We thank Margarita Espada, Director of Teatro Yerbabruja Inc. and Long Island En VIvo 1440 AM/93/3 FM and Ana Maria Caraballo and Jairo Zuluaga for their sponsorship of the Parade.

Also a special shout out to members of the CSJ community and all the LIIC volunteers who turned out to march in the parade!
