Celebrating 375 Years

Celebrating 375 Years of the Sisters of St. Joseph
Secondary Title
This year, the Sisters of St. Joseph celebrate a remarkable milestone — 375 years of love, service, and unity.
Founded by six women and a Jesuit priest in 1650 in Le Puy, France, the Sisters of St. Joseph were established to love God and serve the "dear neighbor" without distinction. They were established during a time of social, religious, political, and economic hardship, working to meet the needs of the people by doing whatever was necessary.
These six women were named Françoise Eyraud, Clauda Chastel, Marguerite Burdier, Anna Chaleyer, Anna Vey, and Anna Brun. The Jesuit priest was Jean Pierre Médaille, SJ.
Since then, their mission of peace, justice, and compassion has touched lives across the globe.
The 375th anniversary marks not just a historic legacy but a vibrant future. This celebration will launch a series of special events taking place in the coming months, celebrating the past, embracing the present, and igniting the future ahead.
Some of the upcoming events include a day of service, visiting with connected parishes to highlight our ongoing mission, a special Mass, a creative presentation in Sacred Heart Chapel on the Brentwood Campus, and a large celebration on Wednesday, October 15.
Join us as we celebrate this sacred journey of faith and service.
