As we move past Earth Day once more, let us consider that life is always longing to be made whole; all being moves toward union. Our time may be the beginning of a new era. While some of us long to slip back into the comfort of old patterns, others are sensing that new patterns are possible. We have been forced to make decisions between what is really necessary, what is really important, and what is just comfortable and convenient. We no longer live safe from the flow of external events. The common threat that we are facing has no restrictions or boundaries. People of all races and all walks of life have been linked together by a desire for survival. Behavior we once considered impossible is revealing possibilities for living a more realistic lifestyle. If we seize the moment, past barriers and divisions might work themselves into a renewed sense of connection. Perhaps with an understanding born out of loss and grief, the human community can develop in new ways.
Make all things new.
What can be learned from the present pandemic and its effects? Where can we learn to live more wholesome lives not only individually but as an earth community? How can we profit from our common experience and not waste it? What would you like to see happen? How can you help?
For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Love is the greatest power for the transformation of reality because it pulls down the walls of selfishness and fills the ditches that keep us apart.
I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.
When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.
In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.
All great changes are preceded by chaos.
Change is the constant, the signal for rebirth, the egg of the phoenix.
Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.
The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do.
Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are to your comfort zone.
