Reflection
This time may be the beginning of a new era. While some of us long to slip back into the comfort of old patterns, others are sensing that new patterns are possible. This is being learned through the decisions we have been forced to make between what is really necessary, what is really important, and what is just comfortable and convenient. We can no longer live safe from the flow of external events. The common threat facing us has no restrictions or boundaries. People of all races and all walks of life have been linked together by a desire for survival. Behavior we once considered impossible is revealing interesting possibilities for living a more realistic lifestyle. If we seize the moment, past barriers and divisions might work themselves into a renewed sense of connection. Life is always longing to be made whole; all being moves toward union. Perhaps with an understanding born out of loss and grief, the human community can develop in new ways.
Prayer
Make all things new.
Action
What can be learned from the present crisis? Where can we learn to live more wholesome lives not only individually but as an earth community? How can we profit from our common experience and not waste it? What would you like to see happen? How can you help?
