Reflection

We are continually waiting to become, to discover, to complete, to fulfill. Hope, struggle, fear, expectation and fulfillment are all part of our life experience. The world is not as just, not as loving, not as whole as we know it can and should be. But the life of Christ gives us reason to live in the hope that light will shatter the darkness, that we can be liberated from our fears and prejudices, that we are never alone or abandoned. His words fire our imaginations and enhance our vision of a better world. They give us the courage to live what we believe is possible.

Prayer

May this be a time for bringing hope, transformation and fulfillment into our lives.

Action

What are some practical ways I can live out hope? How can I share
these with others?

Suggested Readings

God is leading us in joy by the light of divine glory, with mercy and justice for companions.
Baruch 5

I, the Creator, gave my people life. Peace, peace to the far and the near,
says the Lord; and I will heal them.
Isaiah 57:19

Christian hope is not an obstinacy we want to convince ourselves of, but it is a gift that comes directly from God. It is a belief in the future because Christ died and rose again and gave us his spirit.
Pope Francis

When we maintain ourselves as a system committed to love, we create a morphogenic field of peace, one in which gentleness and patience flow out of humble recognition of our connectedness to all. The keeping of the memory and mission of Jesus is not about making him the object of our worship but about making ourselves the locus of the reign of God.
Radical Amazement

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience bearing with one another and forgiving one another. . .as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must do. And over all of these put on love, that is the bond of perfection.  And let the peace of Christ control your hearts the peace into which you were also called in one body.
Colossians 3: 12-15

Be the change you wish to see.
