Opening of the Cosmic Walk.

On Sunday, October 4th, we will dedicate the Cosmic Walk that is located through the woodlands on the Brentwood campus. Each person who enters this contemplative space will have a guiding booklet with 26 of the graced moments of our Universe story.

The Earth Matters Committee worked on this project providing the opportunity and experience to reflect more deeply on our beginnings. Our common story, one we share with all, orientates and guides us in our way forward.

Story helps us to respond to life’s questions; Who are we? What are we about? and so on. We are living in a time between stories; a story that used to function and the new story that has not yet begun to function effectively. While we respect the stories that have brought us to this moment in time we are aware that they do not give us an accurate description of the Universe. We have surpassed the level of knowledge we had at the time of our first origin story. Faith traditions, science, indigenous and feminine wisdom have helped us to grow and deepen our knowledge to the great love of God that flared forth almost 14 billion years ago and continues to invite us to co-create the way forward where all of life will flourish. Such an invitation welcomes us into an exciting way to be human flowing from and grounding us in a new story that deepens our understanding of how we are called to live and to do so in a manner that is aligned with the actual knowledge of the Universe.

Members of the Earth Matters committee are happy to be available to walk or take a golf cart drive with you along this woodland path as we contemplate our common story and our way forward.
