Beauty is all around us as we walk through our everyday lives. When we are focused on something beautiful in all things, we are in appreciation of the One. Beauty connects us to the Divine. The wonder of creation shines all around in the beauty of nature. There is no “where” where God is not– all of creation is made of the sparks of the Creator. To walk in beauty means to walk in harmony with all living things. It is about being in that state of connectedness where you feel united to everything around you.
O God, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all.
Try to be aware of the beauty that surrounds you everywhere. Even in the city there are plants and the open sky. Visit natural places when you can be they parks, open country, or the beach. Enrich your life with the sounds and color of creation in whatever ways are possible. Share this with children. Don’t let the daily societal problems and confusion deaden your spirit.
For God’s invisible attributes, namely, eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.
For by God all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.
Through the greatness and the beauty of creatures one comes to know by analogy their maker.
I want creation to penetrate you with so much admiration that wherever you go the least plant will remind you of the Creator.
It helped me to look at fields, or water or flowers. In these things I found a remembrance of the creator.
St. Teresa of Avila
The magnificent cosmos is a palace that has the sun and the moon as its lamps and the stars as its candles; time is like a rope or ribbon hung within it, on to which the Glorious Creator each year threads a new world.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.
Martin Luther King Jr.
Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.
Hans Christian Andersen
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
