Hurricane Melissa Relief - Elvis Prendergast.

CSJ’s very own Partner in Mission Elvis Prendergast shared with us images and video clips of the destruction in his hometown of Jamaica from Hurricane Melissa. As Partners and as a Congregation, we thought that together, we can take action to address the immediate need and act quickly by gathering essential items with the help of everyone’s generosity and kindness.

Right now, sending items is free of charge. Through a local shipping company, Elvis will be able to get all items collected sent quickly to this remote part or Jamaica, where many of his childhood friends, teachers, family members, and parishioners still reside and whose homes, church, hospital, stores, and school were destroyed.

Watch the video below to hear more from Elvis himself about his hometown in Jamaica.

Please consider helping by providing something from the below list:

1. Non perishables (rice, beans, canned fish, crackers, jelly, peanut butter, evaporated milk).
2. Gift cards or cash donations.
3. Hygiene products/ toiletries.
4. New air mattresses/ bedding.

Donated items, gift cards, or monetary gifts can be sent to:
1725 Brentwood Rd.

Brentwood, NY 11717

The items can be addressed to Angela Delcid or Elvis Prendergast.
