Reflection
Spiritual journey is a name used by many different religions to mean the natural progression of persons as they grow in their understanding of God, the world, and themselves. It is an intentional choice to grow deeper in knowledge and wisdom. Many religions attach spiritual importance to particular places: the place of birth or death of founders or saints, or to the place of their “calling” or spiritual awakening. Sometimes it can be a metaphorical journey into someone’s own beliefs. A person who makes such a spiritual journey is called a pilgrim.

The spiritual journey does not consist in arriving at a new destination where a person gains what he did not have, or becomes what he is not. It consists in the dissipation of one’s own ignorance concerning one’s self and life, and the gradual growth of that understanding which begins the spiritual awakening. The finding of God is a coming to one’s self.
Aldous Huxley
I am beginning now to see how radically the character of my spiritual journey will change when I no longer think of God as hiding out and making it as difficult as possible for me to find him, but instead as the one who is looking for me while I am doing the hiding.
