Reflection

He instructed them to take nothing for the journey.
Mark 6:8

All traditions have the story of a call. It may come from within or without but it beckons one to set out on a journey. Whether it is an actual movement to another place or an inner movement to a personal transformation, there is the metaphor of a journey which requires a response. The answer given requires faith and courage. We can deny the call and remain safe in the certainty of what is; we can accept the call and enter into the possibility of a dimension we have never known before.
