Reflection

We have come to  the end of July and summer is half over. Yet, if creation is the primary revelation of God, summer provides the contemplative eye with its own insights. Summer provides revelation in all colors. It has its own special sounds, its own special tastes. In nature there is abundance, a variety and lush productivity. Summer is a season that believes in the miracle of growth and knows that new life is possible.  It is a season to reflect on the magnificent earth that has given us birth within the loving providence of God’s mysterious creativity.

Prayer

Let summer sing God’s praise.

Action

Reflect on the sources of summer’s sounds and colors. Marvel in oceans and storms. See creation as a reflection of the Creator. What can God be like who is the source of this creation?
