Reflection
Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:26-33
We often underestimate our worth but we do matter. We do not have to live with fear. Our worth is not compared to that of another person or based in accomplishments but is in the heart of the Creator. Even the smallest creature matters. It follows then that if everybody and all creation matter to God, they should matter to us as well.
Prayer
May I not be afraid.

But the man who is not afraid to admit everything that he sees to be wrong with himself, and yet recognizes that he may be the object of God’s love precisely because of his shortcomings, can begin to be sincere. His sincerity is based on confidence, not in his own illusions about himself, but in the endless, unfailing mercy of God.
