To face the elements of the day and to keep on going takes a peculiar kind of courage. It is in dailiness that we prove our mettle. The easy thing is to run away from life. The temptation is to put down the hard parts, to escape from the heat. Staying where we need to be is the real stuff of holiness. We run from place to place and do not recognize God in the hum drum of the day to day. We give our souls no rest and find them dying from spiritual starvation. Every day the contemplative makes a new beginning and tries again to plumb the meaning of life. To be contemplative we must remember to begin again, day after day, to turn dailiness into time with God.
Adapted  from Joan Chittister, OSB

In the morning when I rise; with a steadfast heart I will follow your commands, all the days of my life.
Psalm 1

Practice faithfulness to the responsibilities of each day. Remind yourself from time to time that you live in God who is present.
