Spring Equinox
Reflection
In our hemisphere the earth is warming itself. Light and darkness are brought into balance and life is stirring. Spring is here with its renewal of hope. Earth once again sends forth green shoots and the trees don their leaves. Spring reminds us of the possibility of transformation. The power of Divine Life is within each seed and every seed is a mystery. Each seed that germinates, each leaf that unfurls, each nest that is built, each little creature that is born is a miracle. Spring tells us that earth is alive and filled with color and music. Nature is our teacher. May we live in the wonder and beauty of Springtime.
Prayer
May Spring renew us and recreate life in us.
Action
Do not allow yourself to miss the beauty of Spring. Open yourself to new growth and to unity with the splendor of God’s creation. Hold on to hope.

You have cared for the land and watered it
Greatly you have enriched it
The streams are filled
You have provided the grain
Thus have you prepared the land
Drenching its furrows
Breaking up its clods
Softening it with showers
Blessing its yield
The meadows overflow
And gladness clothes the hills.
The fields are arrayed with flocks
And the valleys blanketed with grain
They shout and sing for joy.
Psalm 65
Everyone needs beauty as well as bread, places to play and pray, where nature heals and gives strength to body and soul alike.
John Muir

The festival of the spring equinox speaks of freshness and youth, of excitement and endless possibilities. Nature begins to quicken and early flowers open to the warmth of the strengthening sun, bringing the colors of lemon and yellow into our lives on the wings of a March wind.

To be alive in this beautiful, self-organizing universe—to participate in the dance of life with senses to perceive it, lungs that breathe it, organs that draw nourishment from it—is a wonder beyond words.
Joanna Macy and Molly Brown
Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window, into which people look(while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and
changing everything carefully
