Reflection

Crisis reveals the character of a person and of a nation. The understanding and compassion we show or cannot show measure our humanity. The decisions we make indicate our values. The priorities we set are a measure of our selfishness The sacrifices we are willing to make for the common good or not willing to make show who we are.. We are in awe of those who risk their own safety each day for the needs of others. We are angered by those who choose to ignore rules meant to preserve values. We are appalled by those who weigh the value of lives against the health of the economy. The current time is painting a sad picture of America from its leadership to its individual citizens.

Prayer

May I act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God.

Action

Analyze the present situation as objectively as you can. Look into yourself. What
Is being asked of you?

When faced with a radical crisis, when the old way of being in the world, of interacting with each other and with the realm of nature doesn’t work anymore, when survival is threatened by seemingly insurmountable problems, an individual life-form — or a species — will either die or become extinct or rise above the limitations of its condition through an evolutionary leap.
