Reflection
We are hopefully looking toward the easing of restrictions as this pandemic is slowly coming under control in our area. What will we have learned when this time of common danger is behind us? Will the memory of the many acts of courage and kindness that have brought us together, of the people on whom we really depend for the needs of our society endure, or will we forget and pick up the threads of our divisions and self-absorption? Will we remember the evidence of our failures in healthcare, our inequalities in shelter and food supply, our over dependence for basic needs on production in other countries? Will we have seen what are revealed to be our real national priorities? Will we translate the realization of our connection and interdependence into choices to do things differently? Will we be able to join together to work for necessary changes? We have an opportunity now to create a different future. The choice is ours.
Prayer
May we have courage to choose what is right and just.
Action
Take time to analyze what you have seen and learned during this time. Sort out what is true and what is illusion. Prepare to make the choices you will need to make as we move ahead.

The tragedy we are experiencing summons us to take seriously the things that are serious, and not to be caught up in those that matter less; to rediscover that life is of no use if not used to serve others. For life is measured by love. May we not be concerned about what we lack, but what good we can do for others.

We have a chance to do something extraordinary. As we head out of this pandemic we can change the world. Create a world of love. A world where we are kind to each other. A world we’re we are kind no matter what class, race, sexual orientation, what religion or lack of or what job we have. A world we don’t judge those at the food bank because that may be us if things were just slightly different. Let love and kindness be our roadmap.
