Sister Kathleen Bernadette Kane, CSJ
We celebrate the life of a woman of great faith, dedication and service. A Sister of Saint Joseph for nearly 68 years, Kathleen died on the eve of the Church’s celebration of the Epiphany, God with us. God is with us, not just 2000 years ago, but in every moment and circumstance of our lives. God comes so that we know we are loved unconditionally and we are to share that love with others, especially the poor, the oppressed and the forgotten. As Sisters of Saint Joseph we work to bring about God’s reign by our love of God and neighbor without distinction.
Kathleen worked diligently in her ministry of education and service. A sister of the neighborhood, she developed compassionate and caring relationships with her beloved family, life-long friends and so many in St. Benedict Joseph, Stella Maris and Sacred Heart. Kathleen truly was God’s presence in the lives of so many.
Her dedication and strong work ethic were enriched by her humor, love of life and faithfulness to our congregation. We admire her strength and endurance in her suffering and know, without a doubt, that she now enjoys eternal peace with those who have gone before her, family and dear friends into the loving arms of her God.
Sister Kathleen Bernadette Kane, CSJ died on January 2, 2016 in the 68th year of her religious life.
