Sister Lorna Rita Strachan, CSJ

We celebrate the life of Sister Lorna Rita Strachan, CSJ (formerly Sister Francis Assisi) who entered into eternal life while residing in Sacred Heart Convent, Hempstead, NY.

Lorna entered the Congregation in 1939 and celebrated her 80th Jubilee this past September. She loved community life and lived our charism and mission in all her ministries. Lorna enjoyed seeking knowledge in many areas and in her educational ministry was an excellent English teacher. She imparted her knowledge to students in our parish elementary schools and in our sponsored high schools. She had a special love for the arts, wrote many beautiful poems and established photography clubs in two high schools. Lorna had a deep love of God, and her life was filled with kindness and generosity as she brought God’s inclusive love to all.

Sister Lorna Rita Strachan, CSJ died on June 8, 2020 n the 80th year of her religious life.
