Whatever He Says to Do, You Do It.

In the gospel narrative, Mary is the first person to show by her actions that the correct response to Jesus is to unconditionally trust in his word. Jesus is the change agent that re-creates creation in God’s image changing the water of our lives into the new wine of commitment. Empowered by the words of Jesus, we are transformed from unbelief into faith, apathy into life, indifference into love. We are changed into the wine that can nourish others
.
Prayer

They have no wine.

And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine,
without knowing where it came from
— although the servers who had drawn the water knew —,
the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him,
“Everyone serves good wine first,
and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one;
but you have kept the good wine until now.”
Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs at Cana in Galilee
and so revealed his glory,
and his disciples began to believe in him.
John 2: 1 -11

This story reflects the picture of a celebrative woman calling for more wine at the wedding, a spokeswoman of the hope of the disenfranchised and the poor, and an apostolic witness who leads others to Christ.
Elizabeth Johnson

To turn water into wine and what is common into what is holy, is indeed the glory of Christianity.
Frederick William Robertson

It is not necessary that we should be able to tell where or how we have been converted, but it is important that we should be able to tell that we are converted.
Dwight L. Moody

We must not sit still and look for miracles; up and doing, and the Lord will be with thee. Prayer and pains, through faith in Christ Jesus, will do anything.
George Eliot

Social responsibility becomes an aspect not of Christian mission only, but also of Christian conversion. It is impossible to be truly converted to God without being thereby converted to our neighbor.
John Stott

Turning the water into wine symbolizes the bringing of abundance. It can be understood in terms of the conversion that takes place when Jesus comes into one’s life. The wedding feast is an ideal representation of the celebration that one can be a part of when a personal conversion occurs.
Demitrius Dumm

I came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead.
