Welcome Land Ecology Interns

Through the course of the spring and summer a total of four interns will be working as part of the Sustainability Department.  Landscape Ecologist, Amanda Furcall is supervising their activities which include managing the woodlands and meadows, tending the native plant gardens, conducting botanical and wildlife surveys and maintaining trails.  The interns will greatly increase our ability to steward the 212-acre Brentwood campus and provide a hands-on learning opportunity for them.

This internship is similar to the Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program which we hosted in 2019 and are participating in again this year.  Both the interns and WWOOFers work on the property five days a week and receive room and board in the Academy building.  Communal living is an opportunity for them to immerse themselves in the experience and get to know the land well.
