Each November, local chapters of the Association for Fundraising Professionals throughout the world set aside one special day to recognize the significant impact of philanthropy. It is celebrated as National Philanthropy Day (NPD). They come together to honor outstanding philanthropic contributions of corporations, small businesses, individuals and groups. These individuals and organizations are recognized as having made a real difference in the lives of men, women and children.
On November 16, the Sisters of St. Joseph will receive the Non-Profit Impact Award sponsored by the Long Island Community Foundation. This award is being bestowed in recognition of the congregation’s environmental initiatives.
Awards will be presented on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Philanthropy Day Luncheon at the Melville Marriott, 1350 Walt Whitman Rd, Melville, NY 11747.
There will be a reception for the honorees at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Sister Helen Kearney, president, Sister Karen Burke, Coordinator of Land Initiatives, members of the Earth Matters Committee, and the Mission Advancement staff will attend.
