This year’s annual gathering for the St. Joseph Worker Program will take place the week of January 20th at the Catholic Charities Respite Center in McAllen, Texas. As the SJWs and the program staff from Los Angeles, New York and St. Paul gather they will be assisting at the center with various tasks, traveling to Matamoras to provide Humanitarian aid to those living in tents until they can receive an asylum hearing and participating in a witness vigil in Brownsville to end MPP. Each evening will allow an opportunity to share the state of the heart in regards to the day’s experience. S. Norma Pimental, MJ who leads the work at the center and is an advocate for refugees and migrants will also be available to meet with the SJW community. SJWP NY is grateful to all whose generous donations will go with them to the border to assist the center with its work and provide for our dear neighbors in Matamoras living in tents.
