TMLA Students Celebrated the Day of the Girl on the Today Show

On October 11th, Mary Louis students were in the live audience for the Today Show to help celebrate the International Day of the Girl! Our Mary Louis women were able to learn more about the lives of young women who have fled to the United States from Afghanistan and the freedoms they get to enjoy themselves. Olivia Zino (‘22) and Adrionna DaGuillard (‘23) were both interviewed by Craig Melvin about the importance of being at Rockefeller Plaza to celebrate International Day of the Girl. Olivia said: “It is amazing, being at The Mary Louis Academy, I am surrounded by so many amazing young girls every day…to be here and to listen to these stories will be a day I will never forget!” Adrionna, who was celebrating her birthday, asked Craig Melvin to sing happy birthday to her (which he did!). We are so proud to have been invited to be a part of such an awesome experience. Thank you to NBC and to the @todayshow for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this celebration!
