Modern science speaks of a primary potential that is the source of ongoing creation. In the blaze of energy that formed the universe, all that is has become. From that mysterious beginning everything shares its origins and is connected. We call that Mystery God, and, in God, we live and move and have our being. “God’s presence is woven throughout all creation and manifest in all that is.” We are all in relationship with the rest of creation and the awareness of God’s abiding presence calls us to have reverence and respect for all and to live in a spirit of contemplative awareness.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of God’s hands.
Reflect on how your image of God is expanding. be open to new expressions.
God said to Moses; I am Who am.
Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
The universe is the primary revelation of the divine, the primary scripture, the primary locus of divine-human communication.
Mystery asks us to live in the unknown with faith and to live in the uncertain with hope, trusting in the revelation of a deeper knowing and certainty that manifests as Love.
If we don’t understand creation correctly, we can’t hope to understand God correctly.
St. Thomas Aquinas
You are the universe, expressing itself as a human for a little while.
The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature.
Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.
The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.
