There is in each of us a desire for unity. It as much a part of who we are as our other needs and desires. We tend to make it complicated but something so deep in us has to be more simple and attainable if only we take time to pay attention. This is not an exercise but an ongoing dimension of life –not something we do but something we are. It is a conscious awareness of our unity with one another and all creation in God, the Source of all life. To ignore this and to remain the center of our own lives prevents us from moving beyond ourselves. Then we are not satisfied because there is no space in us for God or anyone else.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.
Over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Unity happens when we walk together.
A sense of the universe, a sense of the all, the nostalgia which seizes us when confronted by nature, beauty, music – these seem to be an expectation and awareness of a Great Presence.
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
We all are so deeply interconnected; we have no option but to love all.
Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.
We will never be capable of true relationships with others if we continue to view them as others.
The Universe is a unity, an interacting and genetically-related community of beings bound together in an inseparable relationship in space and time.
All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.
When humans find themselves surrounded by nothing but objects, the response is always one of loneliness.
We are all the same being. Union is the true reality of existence.
