Season of Creation

Season of Creation

During the 2021 Season of Creation, from 1st September through 4th October, thousands of Christians on six continents get together for a time of restoration and hope, a jubilee for our Earth, and to discover radically new ways of living with creation.

More than ever before, the global Christian family will unite to pray and take action for our common home. Read more about the Season of Creation.

Contemplative Walk through Our Cosmic Story

Saturday, September 4th

Cosmic walk 10:00am-11:30am

Begin the Season of Creation with a contemplative walk through our Cosmic Story. The Cosmic Walk, along a woodland path is marked with evolutionary events that have brought us to this moment in time. This experiential prayer will move through the story of the universe in a deeper and reflective way. As we walk contemplatively along the path, we ponder life’s basic questions; where do we come from? How are we to live? The experience culminates with a sharing on the presence that flows throughout all of creation.

We will meet at the labyrinth across from La Providencia Center.

Sponsored by the CSJ Earth Matters and Liturgy Committees. On-site participation.

Season of Creation Earth Liturgy

Sunday, October 3th

11:00am- 12:00pm

Join us to celebrate God’s creation, as every creature, mountain, river and tree give praise to the Creator simply by doing what God created them to do. At this celebration we focus our thanks to God and commit ourselves to protecting Earth, our common home. Meet on the great lawn in front of the Academy building.

Alternative space if raining will be the Joan de Lourdes Room.

Sponsored by Earth Matters and Liturgy Committees. On-site participation.
