Sister Mary Patricia Berliner, CSJ
May 14, 2020
Pat entered the congregation in 1966. She had great love of community, and lived her 54 years of religious life rooted in God’s inclusive love, with a generous spirit of compassion, sincerity, and awareness of the needs of others. Pat ministered as a teacher, guidance counselor and in later years as a psychologist. Her ministry encompassed work dealing with psychospiritual concerns, advocacy for the rights of women, disaster mental health and trauma situations, as well as concerns of general adult development.
She reached out and touched many lives. She had a great love of community and lived her religious life rooted in God’s inclusive love, with a generous spirit of compassion, sincerity, and awareness of the needs of others, especially her advocacy for the rights of women, for those with mental illness, as well as those in trauma situations and the general adult development..
We remember that Pat lived her 73 years as an example to each and every person she met; that love is an action – and the practice of giving ourselves to others is the truest way to honor God.
Sister Mary Patricia Berliner died on May 14, 2020 in the 54th year of her religious life.
