Sister Vincent Louise Tesoriero, CSJ
Sep 30, 2015
We celebrate the life of Sister Vincent Louise Tesoriero, a Sister of Saint Joseph for seventy three years. Vincent has lived her life with dedication, joy and service.
She began her active ministry aae an elementary school teacher in various parish schools in Brooklyn and on Long Island. After earning a BS in Home economics at Revier College and an MS at Brooklyn College, she went on to teach at Bishop Kearney H.S. and then at Sacred Heart Academy. All who have known her are reminded of the mission of Jesus to welcome all without distinction, provide for their needs and encourage them to do the same.
Our congregation has a tradition of hospitality, welcoming all with respect, dignity and a sense of joy that comes from the realization that God loves us unconditionally. Vincent’s family, students, friends and her long term community at Sacred Heart experienced that love through her caring attention whether it be an annual birthday card or a cookie baked in class. She had a deep sense of gratitude and always said “Thank you” even in the last days of her life when she depended on those who cared for her so tenderly.
It is our turn to say thank you for her commitment as a Sister of Saint Joseph, for her service, deep joy and for showing us how to live as Jesus did: to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God.
Sister Vincent Louise Tesoriero, CSJ died on September 29, 2015 in the 73rd year of her religious life.
