Insight enables us to see the true nature of things. It penetrates to the underlying truth of a situation or a life. To have “in-sight” is to see ourselves and others from within. Our own self-knowledge is deepened when we experience an insight into our actions or behavior. It requires that we are open to how others perceive us, that we are able to break through our balloon of self-protection. Attaining insight means listening with a positive ear and not rejecting what is unpalatable. It is the result of taking the time to work at seeing through intuitive understanding. In spite of the flattery that deludes us. We become aware of the deep truths within, but, only if we take time to pay attention, to be aware, to gain our “in-sight”.
Open the eyes of my heart, O God.
Pay attention to the insights you receive and reflect on the truth they may hold.
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
Father forgive them, they know not what they do.
A moment’s insight is sometimes worth a life’s experience.
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
See where your own energy wants to go, not where you think it should go. Do something because it feels right, not because it makes sense. Follow the spiritual impulse.
The best vision is insight
Malcolm S. Forbes
The man with insight enough to admit his limitations comes nearest to perfection.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.
It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes… we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions – especially selfish ones.
