Reflection

I give thanks to my God always on your account
Cor.1:1 – 9

God’s love is experienced through the lives and relationships we share with other people. Through them our own faith, hope and love are strengthened. Each of us, if we take the time, can think with deep gratitude of the people whose goodness has supported and encouraged us. We have probably received much more than we have consciously given. If we reflect on it, we can understand the turning points in our lives that are directly related to the inspiration and love we have received from others be they relatives or friends. Do we take people for granted?

Prayer

I give thanks to my God always on your account.

Action

Remember all those whose lives have touched and enriched yours. Thank God for the gift of these people. Let us be grateful to people who make us happy;

I give thanks to my God always on your account
for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus,
that in him you were enriched in every way,
with all discourse and all knowledge,
as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you,
so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift
as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He will keep you firm to the end,
irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is faithful,
and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Cor 1:1-9

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.
Meister Eckhardt

To live a life of gratitude is to open our eyes to the countless ways in which we are supported by the world around us. Such a life provides less space for our suffering because our attention is more balanced. We are more often occupied with noticing what we are given, thanking those who have helped us, and repaying the world in some concrete way for what we are receiving.
Gregg Krech

We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.
John F. Kennedy

When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.
Maya Angelou

In normal life we hardly realize how much more we receive than we give, and life cannot be rich without such gratitude. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of our own achievements compared with what we owe to the help of others.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Sometimes the little things in life mean the most.
Ellen Hopkins

The pondering heart is a thankful heart.
Todd Stocker

Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Marcel Proust

Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.
Alphonse Karr
