Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. Peace, for example, starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. When we feel love and kindness towards others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.
My we speak the truth in love, that we will grow into the mature body of Christ.
Rather than spend time agonizing how bad things are, decide what you can do to make things better. Act on it.
Each son or daughter of a given country has a mission, a personal and social responsibility.
No man should think himself a zero, and think he can do nothing about the state of the world.
We all have the potential to move the world, and the world is ready to be moved.
You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his or her own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.
Change happens at the level of the individual.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.
Robert F. Kennedy
Every one of us can make a contribution. And quite often we are looking for the big things and forget that, wherever we are, we can make a contribution… just imagine what’s happening if there are billions of people out there doing something. Just imagine the power of what we can do.
It’s important to see what we can do to make a difference, but it’s more important to me to do it every single day.
