Early in the morning, I seek your presence, O God.
In the rising of the sun,
In the unfolding color and shape of the morning
Open my eyes to the mystery of the moment
That in every moment of the day
I may know your life giving presence.
Open my eyes in the moment
That in every moment
I know you as the One who is always there
May I be aware of God’s presence.
Try to experience the day in a contemplative spirit.
I am the first and the last. Do not fear for I am with you.
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We need to find God, and God cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.
Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.
In our stillness, we acknowledge God’s greatness and we are at peace in our life. Stillness saturates us in the Presence of God.
E’yen A. Gardner
Maybe the atheist cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman.
If God had wanted to be a big secret, He would not have created babbling brooks and whispering pines.
Were there no God, we would be in this glorious world with grateful hearts and no one to thank.
Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.
