We are called to be leaven. Leaven is a powerful agent of change causing a transformation from within. Added to a lump of dough it causes interior change that produces life sustaining bread. It is possible that individually and collectively we can be a leaven in society. Our lives can resonate with those of others with similar desires. This can be life sustaining. Slowly, the influence can permeate the whole. Who we are, what we believe is not insignificant. How we live in resonance can spread and the world can be transformed by the Spirit visible in us.
May we be leaven in our world.
Reflect on the power of your life to affect the balance of good in the world. How can you do this with your inner as well as outer actions.
He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.” And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.”
When each of us vibrates love and compassion, our energy mysteriously unites with the energy of love and compassion all over the planet, augmenting the field of compassion, making its resonance, manifestation, and influence a very powerful force for transformation and healing. . . . Could there be any greater cause for hope in the community of life?
You can never really live anyone else’s life, not even your child’s. The influence you exert is through your own life, and what you’ve become yourself.
The humblest individual exerts some influence, either for good or evil, upon others.
Henry Ward Beecher
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
I’m not going to change the world. You’re not going to change the world. But we can help – we can all help.
A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.
You are here to make a difference, to either improve the world or worsen it. And whether or not you consciously choose to, you will accomplish one or the other.
