Reflection

The history of the world is plagued by dueling dualisms: mind vs. body, humans vs. nature, science vs. religion, male vs. female. The awareness of connections erases such arbitrary and unnecessary distinctions. Everything is interrelated — in time, space, and our very being. Both religion and science reveal this truth.  There are certain givens: The one is made up of many. One thing always leads to another. Everything is related to everything else. By consciously tracing the links connecting you with other beings your perspective broadens. We need to engage in this when we have a tendency to compartmentalize, to put our experiences, in neat little boxes instead of seeing them as parts of a whole.

Prayer

May all be one.

Action

Reflect on how we are each dependent on the entire web of life. Remember that none of us can survive without the plants and animals of this earth. Consider that all humans regardless of nationality, race or religion have the same needs, emotional, spiritual and physical. Do not participate, support or spread words or actions of division.
