Just to be is a blessing; just to live is holy.
The gift of life is the deepest blessing. We are through the unconditional vivifying Spirit of God. We and all living things are truly marvels! Each of us is meant to be a spark of light in this wondrous blaze of creation. To live being completely oneself, to live with integrity, to live in daily wonder at the sheer magnificence of this universe, to live in reverence for other living beings and to act with love and compassion is holy. We are free to be conduits of God’s presence, to let light shine through us for others. The act of living life with gratitude and joy is holy. It is our own special hymn of praise. It is living out the reign of God.
May I appreciate the blessing of my life and
live so as to be a blessing for others.
Reflect on the wonder of life.
By my life how can I help to raise awareness and bring about change?
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live.
Let your light shine before all, that they may see your good works and praise God.
From wonder into wonder existence opens.
Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.
Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.
Worship is transcendent wonder.
Being yourself is one of the hardest things because it’s scary. You always wonder whether you’ll be accepted for who you really are. I decided to call my record ‘Inside Out’ because that’s my motto about life. I don’t think you ever succeed at trying to be anyone else but who you truly are.
Frees us of all the weight and pain of life:
That word is love.
No; we have been as usual asking the wrong question. It does not matter a hoot what the mockingbird on the chimney is singing. The real and proper question is: Why is it beautiful?
People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.
