“We all carry a spark of the divine within us; a seed of basic goodness (or godliness). Our work is to grow this spark into a mighty flame. We can help ourselves and each other do this by choosing to acknowledge that basic goodness, even in the midst of conflict. We need to keep our hearts open. The physical heart keeps blood pumping; the human heart keeps love flowing.” If we harden our hearts against one another, love cannot flow. We are meant to be channels of God’s goodness and love for one another and all creation.
Help me. O Lord, to love others as you have loved us.
Examine what it is in you that may keep the spark of God’s love from growing into flame. What can set you free?
Don’t you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don’t belong to yourselves.
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
2 Cor 4:7-15
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,but when the darkness sets in,their true beauty is revealed only
if there is light from within.
For what is Mysticism? It is not the attempt to draw near to God,
not by rites or ceremonies, but by inward disposition?
Is it not merely a hard word for ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is within’?
Heaven is neither a place nor a time.
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
