Reflection

No matter what the situation or evidence shows to the contrary, there are people who refuse to open themselves to new possibilities. The same view, the same words, the same perspectives are too embedded for change. Yet with every action, every thought, every dream we have, each of us is creating the future. Today was yesterday and will soon be tomorrow. Our world did not become what it is except for the discoveries, the new insights the good and bad choices that have been made in the past. Now, each of us is an important facet of the whole. No life is insignificant. Who we are makes the difference. It is vital to be open, to accept new possibilities when exposed to new information. It is a way of allowing the truth of the Spirit to foster our evolving transformation and growth. Mulling over new insights and accepting new information can be the path to life giving change. The contrast to openness is a closed mindedness and rigidity which impede the ongoing revelation of God.

Prayer

Show me your ways, O God; teach me your paths.
Psalm 24

Action

How flexible am I? Do I usually think I already know all the answers? Am I open to other perspectives? Am I willing to consider new information? How do I react to new ideas? Do I see myself as creating the future?
