The Learning Connection 2023 Graduates

On June 7th The Learning Connection celebrated its 29th Award Ceremony with a luncheon and certificates distributed by their teachers. Two hundred seventy women attended the program this year, strengthening their skills in English, reading and math. Some of the participants are preparing for citizenship. Wanda Ortiz-Rivera, the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education and Bilingual Programs for the Brentwood Public School District, addressed the recipients, encouraging them to continue to reach for their goals. With a grant received this year, each of the women received the gift of a children’s book to encourage them to foster reading at home with their families. Denise Murray, Director of TLC, praised the women and their teachers for the success of the program as demonstrated by their strong test scores and excellent attendance.
