Pillars of Our Grant Funding

Explore the core pillars of our grant funding and the deep connection to the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Education

We support programs that extend the education system to the underserved with an emphasis on vulnerable children aged 6-18. This includes remedial education programs especially those focused on women and girls within our designated geographic areas. Vocational and language schooling is also considered for young adults.

Environment

We support programs that maintain and support open space including community gardens, farmlands, woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. We also consider requests for sustainable environmental initiatives. A sentence should be added here to make it even with education.

Immigration

We support projects specifically developed to provide support to immigrants in areas such as housing, food, clothing, and remedial programs. We should add a sentence here.

Empowerment of Women

We support programs that provide women and girls opportunities to overcome hardship, reach their full potential, and help their families and communities flourish. We should add here a few more sentences to keep it even with Education.

Spirituality

We support projects that provide opportunities for spiritual development. These can include virtual and on-site Christian programs that reflect the cultural needs of the local communities, such as retreats for Church leaders, training of spiritual directors, workshops, and experiences focused on types of prayer.

Education

SHA Graduation 2022
The Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood have long believed that education is the foundation for a more just and compassionate world.

Their commitment to learning spans generations and communities - empowering individuals not only with knowledge but with the confidence to lead meaningful lives.

Through the schools they sponsor and the programs they support, the Sisters make education accessible to students of all backgrounds, especially those who may otherwise be overlooked. From early childhood to adult learning, their mission extends across every age and stage of life.

Whether it’s a young child taking their first steps in a faith-filled classroom or an adult returning to school to build a better future, the Sisters are there - fostering growth, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Environment

The Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood are deeply committed to environmental stewardship, recognizing that care for the Earth is a sacred responsibility.

Their mission is rooted in the belief that all creation is interconnected, and that protecting the planet is essential to promoting justice, peace, and the well-being of future generations.

Through sustainability initiatives, conservation efforts, and educational outreach, the Sisters actively model what it means to live in harmony with nature. Their Brentwood campus reflects these values - home to preserved woodlands, organic gardens, and renewable energy solutions that serve as both sanctuary and classroom.

From ecological retreats to environmental advocacy, the Sisters inspire communities to take action - encouraging all of us to live more mindfully, with respect and reverence for the natural world.
